Dragon TV: Malta's Ambassador to China Highly Praises SEP at Boao Forum

The year of 2018 marks the fifth year since China put forward the Belt and Road Initiative. During the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2018, Chinese and foreign experts, scholars and government officials expressed that thanks to the Belt and Road Initiative, all the participating economies have realized inclusive development based on the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration. From a new starting point, the Belt and Road Initiative will expand a new model of cooperation and win-win, and promote more balanced, inclusive and sustainable development of the world economy.

At the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Islands Economic Cooperation Forum held on the morning of April 9, John Aquilina, Malta's Ambassador to China, shared his viewpoint on mutual-beneficial cooperation brought about by the Belt and Road Initiative.

"Shanghai Electric Power was able to invest 320 million euro in Malta, purchased 30 percent of Malta's Energy Authority, and turned an ancient power authority into a modern and efficient one, that's now based on gas, not diesel, improving the environment and lowering the pollution."
