China Electric Power News: Minghua Electric Power Wins State Science and Technology Progress Award Again

On January 9, 2017, China's State Science and Technology Progress Award in 2016 was unveiled, and "Key technology and application for low-frequency fault diagnosis on large-scale wind power and hydropower generation units" from Shanghai Minghua Electric Power Technology Engineering Co., Ltd. (Minghua Electric Power) was honored the second prize, which means the company won such prize for the second time within five years following the second prize of the State Science and Technology Progress Award in 2011 granted to "Key technology for system optimization, energy conservation and emission reduction on 1,000 MW-class ultra-supercritical units" by the company.


The technology has been applied to all the pumped storage power plants in service around the country, realizing whole-industry coverage. In the past three years, the technology has predicted a total of more than 200 large and medium-scale faults, which has become a key technology for construction and safe operation in domestic wind power and hydropower industries. Moreover, the technology for low-frequency sensor has been exported to Southeast Asia, Latin America and other regions.
