CPNN: SEP PM2.5 Reduction Science and Technology Project was Accepted by Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai

    On May 22, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai held project acceptance meeting about Research and Demonstration of PM 2.5 Reduction Particulate Polymeric Micro-device. The science and technology project on PM2.5 reduction, which was undertook by SEP Wujing Power Plant, was successfully approved by the expert group.

    Project team completed the planned tasks and reached the assessed technical indicators, that provide technical supports for PM2.5 reduction and dust emission in our coal-fired power plants. The detection made by State Power Environmental Protection Research Institute showed that after modification, dust concentration and PM2.5 in Wujing Power Plant No. 9 unit reduced by 20% and 30% respectively. In addition, the project team also received 3 patents and published 4 papers. 

    The project solve the bottlenecks of re-entrainment of dusts caused by ESP with low cost which will significantly reduce PM2.5 emissions and total concentration of dust emissions and provide a new design concept in energy saving and emission reduction in coal-fired power plant. According to the calculation, with the micro-particles polymerization device, one 300MW unit can reduce dust emission by 68 ton and PM2.5 by 29 ton per year. On August 11, 2013, CCTV News gave special reports that focused on the new industrial opportunities and benefit the general public which attracted great attention.
